Whether I'm having fun or not.
I have been happy unemployed for a whole month now.
The guy finally called me on Thursday night for the job I inquired about where I can save people's lives. After he said that he'd call me on Wednesday morning.
36 hours is a long time to wait for a phone call. I fucking hate don't really like flaky people. What happened to calling someone when you said you would?
I've had a lot on my plate lately. When I'm not blogging, leaving comments or reading blogs, I actually do stuff out of the house and around the house. You know what I hate more than working for a person with anger issues?
Shopping at Walmart.
I love saving money but I loathe Walmart and the people who shop there more than working for someone with anger issues.
I thought about being a personal shopper for the elderly but if I have to spend my days at Walmart, I'd rather be dead.
(Sorry, I forgot to take my lithium supplement today.)
But, I found my cannonball and I hope I can sell it. I spend my spare time looking for things I can sell because I don't want to work for a flake or a mean person.
Maybe I'm just destined to be poor? I don't know.
I hope not!
You know what? I'll never get tired of being home with my awesome kids, doing everything I do around the house for free and I'm good at saving money even if it means that I have to shop at Walmart.
I cancelled my long distance service on the land line. I'm not making much money but I'm saving $26.00 a month just by cancelling the long distance service on the land line at home.
I'm able to take pictures and make long distance calls with my cell phone. It's become a very important part of my life. I've given my number to a few bloggers and this is a hint for them to call me. :) I'll never get tired of hearing my ringtone!
What are you doing to save money or are you freaking rich?

17 Great Minds Think Alike:
Yes, I know this is the third post today. I'm dealing with it and I'm asking you to forgive me.
Thanks!
I may be physically unable to type or read tomorrow, so post away...
Walmart... ACCCCCCCKKKKK!
I love that you've posted 3 times today!!
To save money, I clip coupons like a mad woman and wait for the coupon item to go on sale. Sometimes, I can get things for free or almost free. It's all in the timing baby!
I refuse to post three comments on the same day to three blogs by the same person. Ooops...to late.
Stop with the destined to be poor thoughts. You are destined to find the perfect job...so there.
Rich? Hahahaa! That's funny. Finally not living below the poverty line makes me jump for joy. Saving... well we use to not have cable (but I'm addicted to the History channel and Natgeo, plus I write those off as needs for schooling purposes LOL). We don't have a landline, we use MagicJack to call our families back home (its only 19.95$ a year). And we have various savings and retirement accounts.
We don't have lots of pocket cash, but we are working towards being able to put the boys through college and enjoy old age without having to work out butts off. Never rich, just stable that is what we aim for.
Being rich is not just about finances, you have great kids and clearly lots of people who love you, especially here in the blogosphere.
Remember I said that I had lost my dream job a little while ago, well it looks like it might be on the horizon again... so if it can happen to me, it can certainly happen to you. Karma!
I've started wiping my ass with 1 ply toilet sandpaper.
I'm no Richie Rich.
I wish I was rich. It would be soo nice to not have bills and be able to shop for whatever I wanted without worrying about the budget. We were watching Cribs on MTV yesterday and seriously, rich peopel literally throw away money. It's disgusting. Right now we are downgrading from cable to DishNetwork because of their much, much cheaper TV packages. And I've downgraded as much as possible on my cell phone. I may not have minutes to talk but at least I can text for cheap! LoL. I try to cut corners and save money any which way I can. I'm cheap like that, LoL. As for Walmart, I wish I coudl share some horrid story and tell you how with you I am (even though I'm totally with you, you know that!) but I have never had a horrible experiance in that store. And I've even done Black Friday there! That day I was laughing with strangers and having a good time. I do have to say though, the one bad thing about them is the fact that they have 50 check out lanes and only 5 or 6 open at all times. Looong lines+cranky 3 year old=Very cranky momma. That could be my bad experiance. Every flipping time too! LoL. And the peopel who work theer need to be more appreciative of teh fact that thye actually have a job and they need to be more friendly and helpful instead of cranky. I wouldn't like working either but sadly, I didn't win the lottery yesterday so I guess I gotta suck it up just like they should....Holy crap!! You helped me find their weaknesses! Yay! LoL. I can officially share bad experiances yay!
So NOT freaking rich!
I save money by buying LOTS of store-brand groceries and using coupons. I shop at resale stores and garage sales for clothes and I take (and am incredibly grateful for!) any and all hand-me-downs! I don't have a cell phone, either. Actually, I do, but it's a little pre-paid job (for emergencies only!), that amounts to $15 a month.
Always looking for more ideas, too!
Hope you get that call soon, Tracey!
I'm filthy rich. I just work for something to do.
Someone out there will pay for a cannonball.
I share your sentiments about Walmart.
Did I mention that I'm filthy rich?
Since you have internet you could sign up for skype and talk long distance computer to computer for free.
i have been working part time since february, seeking full time employment...we have stripped spending down to the bare essentials and just barely make it each month...no TV, just games...free wif-fi is my friend...we coupon shop now...and we have learned to love each other even more. money isnt everything. smiles.
Like you, I go around the house looking for things to sell that we don't use or need. Hope the hubby never starts looking for that stuff, lol. I have an online shop where I sell the things I find at estate & garage sales and sell the rest on eBay.
I've cut my own hair for the last 15 years, have always done my own manicures & pedicures, we do our own yardwork, we shop for bulk groceries and clothes at Sam's or Stein Mart, or sales at the better stores, grow my own veggies every summer & put up everything I possibly can, and make all the Christmas presents for friends & family. I make custom handmade canvas floorcloths (rugs) as well as make appetizer cheesecakes for big parties around town. I also go to visit a friend in San Antonio several times a year and while there, I go to the wholesale fish market & stock up on fish for cheap, then bring it home in coolers with dry ice. We only go out to eat about once a month because we like to save up for when we go to visit our kids.
I also sold Silpada Designs jewelry for a few years & did quite well with that, not to mention the free quality silver jewelry I acquired.
I might well be the Queen of Frugal after being married to a tight-fisted man for 32 years. But, we're still helping daughter financially (and she's getting ready to go to law school) & still helping son with college, so our money is pretty much delegated already. I also have lots of economical recipes that you can stretch out to extra meals on my cooking blog.
Having sold online & on eBay for more than 15 years, I can assure you that people will buy anything, even a canonball...
Wendy, I hope it's nothing serious, keeping you from the computer. Thanks and hugs!!
Mrs Boring, I clip coupons too but they don't make them for vegetables.....I haven't found any, anyway! Thanks and hugs!!
Monkey Man, I'm just getting impatient. Thanks!
Holmes Family, Stable sounds good. Just keeping the bills paid is all I'm asking for. Thanks and hugs!!
St Jude, I could use a little good Karma right now. Congratulations!! Thanks and hugs!!
Gillian, I'm sorry about the 1 ply sandpaper. Thanks and hugs!!
Beckie, Maybe people are only rude in my Walmart. Do people shop in their pajamas and slippers there too? Just curious. Thanks and hugs!!
Rachel, I didn't want a cell phone....trust me when I say I didn't want one. Thanks and hugs!!
Matty, You're filthy rich? My dad is too. Thanks!!
Poodles, Half Rabbit/Peeking Rabbit told me about skype. I'll look into it. Thanks and hugs!!
Brian, Thanks! I know money isn't everything but hugs and love aren't paying the bills right now. Smiles!!
Snooty, Thanks for the great suggestions. I will check out your cooking blog. I'm always looking for inexpensive meals. I've only had my hair cut by a professional a dozen times in my life. I don't fuss over my nails much. I paint my toes though. Hugs!!
Hey I'm rich ;) Just kidding. I love finding coins on the ground and filling my piggy bank. I shunt money round my secret "off-state" bank accounts. With a recent interest rate rise I'm up to eighteen dollars a month in interest for me to hoard. Yes I'm crazy :P
I've never shopped at walmart. Hopefully my evil glare of death would stop reaching kid hands from ever touching things I had chosen to be mine. Who knows what strange parasites they're infected with. ;)
Lots of good ideas here for saving money, so I'm not going to add to that. I'm always on the lookout for stuff around my house that I can sell. What?? Another thing in common?? No way!! Yes, I am in the poor club, we have jackets. Walmart is evil, simple. Cute Hubby is fighting an evil cold that he swears he caught at Walmart. I think he would rather shove a fork in his ear than shop there ever again.
How about finding something you can do from home? Not sure what that would be, but maybe there are things out there. Maybe you could get paid to leave witty comments on your friends blogs :)
