Almost Ready For Halloween

Oldest Daughter made a costume for Max and I had to take pictures!

Isn't he cute? He loved being in his costume and he purred the entire time he was wearing it.

#1 Son wants to be Kenny. We went to 6 stores yesterday and I think we found the ONLY orange hoodie in town.

We finalized all the details of Youngest Daughter's costume last night. I have to wash it today because she wore if for a couple of hours and got soda on it.

And, as with my life, just when things start to seem normal again, Hubby gets a text from my ex-best friend's ex husband and he said that my ex-best friend's mom passed away on Tuesday. The exact same day that we lost our friend, five years ago. I've been thinking about her mom since I dropped off the doll bed at her house in May. I drove by her house yesterday and I thought about her. I always do this time of year. I have very fond memories of her. I guess they won't be having a Halloween party at her mom's house this year, but then again, my ex friend might have the biggest party ever.

Weird.

Love the idea of a orange hoodie Kenny costume! Seriously, the hamster costume is pretty dang cool! Happy Haloween girlfriend! The little owl you sent me is above my kitchen sink, and he is going to stay there even after Halloween! xo

I lost my best friend 5 years ago & still look down her street every time I drive that way. Maybe I'm looking in hopes of miraculously seeing her or maybe it's just habit, but I still do it...

Great Guinea Pig (?) costume, LOL!

Never pondered what a guinea pig might wear for Halloween, but that costume is rocking. :) I love it.

Hmm, maybe the reason you had so much trouble finding an orange hoodie is that everyone else is going as Kenny as well?

How is the job-hunt going, or is there a job-hunt?

Brian, Happy Halloween to you and your precious family! Thanks and Smiles!

Plo, I have skulls and bats up all year long. I'm glad you like the owl. Hugs to you and yours. Happy Halloween. I hope that you and yours have lots of fun. I imagine that you'll be trick-or-treating in your old neighborhood? Love ya!!

Snooty, I'm feeling very strange today. Thanks and hugs!!

Brainella, The dog ate his sombrero so O.D. came up with a plan B. Thanks and hugs!!

Pita-woman, I'm sending you an email. Thanks and hugs!!

I left this comment on the post that I linked to. Just when I think things are getting back to normal and I'm feeling better, someone dies. Too many people have died this year. It's time for it to stop!

This post does not accurately reflect how I'm feeling today, knowing that she's gone. If I had known in May that she only had a few more months to live, I would have reached out to her. I'm not sure that anything would have come of it but at least I would have been able to tell her that I/we did truly love her. I guess I've matured some since May because I know that kids will do what they want to.....no matter how they were raised. I shouldn't have held my ex-friend's actions against her.

I will attend services if there are any. I will still be there for her grandkids, whether they want me to be or not. We've all been through so much together. And, I will never stop loving my friend's kids.

I am sorry to hear your best friend passed on before you were able to tell her you loved her but she know it now.

I love the costume.

Have a great Halloween!

Makes me wonder if my daughter will want to dress up her rats. It would be funy for sure.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your x-friend's Mom. Sounds like a complicated story. Do what you need to say good bye. Regrets can be awful to the soul.

I love the costume, very cute. I'm not allowed to dress up the dogs cuz hubs is a party pooper.
Sorry you are having a rough time. Hugs to you.
Next time you need *anything* orange, just ask me. the town's high school colors are orange and black so we have it out the wazoo!

So sorry about your ex bff's mom.

Weird, indeed. The whole ex-friend thing can be so odd and it sticks with you. I know.

As for Halloween, I can't wait to see pictures of everyone in costume - can you get everyone to stand together? LOL

Max looks adorable!

Monkey Man, Rats need costumes! IMO! Little kitty cat costumes would be cute!! My life is complicated if you haven't noticed. ;) Thanks!

Secretia, Peace would be nice. Thanks and hugs!!

The Peach Tart, Happy weekend to you!! Thanks and hugs!!

Sassy, Thanks! Happy Haunting to you and yours too! Hugs!!

Matty, I used to be resilient. I'm not so sure I am anymore. Pretty beaten down since I'm not working yet. I hope next month is better! They haven't been able to replace me at work yet either, so HA! to the mean bitch!! Happy Halloween to you and yours. I want to see pictures of your awesome grandchildren!
Thanks!!

Otin, We have 6 guinea pigs. Max is the oldest and he's the best. I'll be fine. Have fun on your trip and hugs LMB for me! Thanks!!

Linda, Welcome! Thanks and hugs!!

rxBambi, Orange anything is hard to find here!! Thanks and hugs!!

Joanna, You are so sweet! Thanks and hugs!!

Wendy, I should have pictures up early tomorrow. My kids like to wear their costumes all day long but I'm not washing Youngest's again even if she spills soda on it! Thanks and hugs!!

Have a safe weekend everyone!!

Oh, I LOVE guinea pigs! That noise they make - I wonder if Monkey Man will let me bring one home? Nope. Not likely.

I love the moments you've shared recently about ex-friends. I occasionally miss them, my formers, as I like to call them, but most often feel glad for the time we had together and grateful that I let them go when I needed to.

I also, by the way, set an extra plate at the Thanksgiving table for those who can't be with us. I hope they like Pumpkin Soup.... and don't take all the gravy.

The costume is awesome!

Sorry to hear about your exfriends mom. Strange that it happened when it happened.

About the costume. In the words of my youngest brother (through text doesn't do it's cuteness justice just like I'm sure Max is a lot cuter in that costume IRL) Soooooo cooouuuuttte. If you take him on trick or treat with you you'll get lot's of healthy nibbles you can steal off him. ;) (just kidding, you don't want a angry guinea pig squalling at you to give him back his carrot stick)
